Councillor Peter Gibson
As Leader of Wyre Council, Peter has been heavily involved with regeneration in the Wyre area. He has had a role in a wide range of projects including the Fleetwood Fish and Food Park, the power station and other developments on Hillhouse International Business Park, the sea change coastal regeneration in Cleveleys and Fleetwood, and the revitalisation of Poulton-Le-Fylde and the rural areas. As a district nominated member of the LEP Board, Peter regards his responsibilities as county-wide with a focus on decisions being taken for the benefit of Lancashire as a whole.
Most of Peter's working life has been spent in the small and medium enterprise sector and he has owned restaurants and a printing franchise on the Fylde Coast. He believes that, while major projects should be supported and encouraged, if the conditions are in place for small and medium enterprise to develop and grow it can make a huge difference in terms of job creation and regeneration.
